Our Parent Company
The South Mississippi Surgical Weight Loss Center was founded by South Mississippi Surgeons in the year 2000. For over 30 years, South Mississippi Surgeons have been providing quality surgical care for the residents of Jackson County.
South Mississippi Surgeons has grown to include seven surgeons with offices in Pascagoula and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The physicians in the partnership are all board-certified specialists and have surgical privileges at both Ocean Springs Hospital and Singing River Hospital.

Dr. William Avara, our bariatric surgeon, is a leader in his field who performs advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery. This relatively new technique generally involves smaller incisions and a faster recovery time for patients.
